Why is this happening?


Written stories featured on whyisthishappening.org website are original, nonfiction short stories. They are submitted by people who have faced a difficult challenge and found God to be faithful. The purpose of the submitted story is to encourage someone else who may be facing a similar challenge

The WITH site does not publish stories copied from news reports or biographies from press releases. The website also does not publish stories from people seeking financial support.


In order for your story to be considered for publication, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Length: your story should be approximately 800-1000 words.
Focus: your short story should focus on one life event. (You can submit more than one story)
Format: write your story in the order that it happened, include a beginning, middle and end.
Follow a Story Arc, Include the following:
What happened?
The struggle, how did you feel?
Resolution (there may be instances when resolution has not yet occurred)
What advice would you give to someone going through a similar challenge?
Have you found a new purpose as a result of the challenge. (If applicable)
Include helpful resources or scriptures (If applicable)


Using your story as a venue to air grievances against others.
Expressions of political viewpoints.
Use of "churchy" language only a mature Christian could understand.
Telling someone else's story.


Your name, email address, phone number, city and state. (Your name may be changed or omitted from your story, when appropriate).
A personal photo when submitting your story. We can also use a stock photo, if desired.
