Pastor Sam Rijfkogel
Pastor Sam Rijfkogel is the senior pastor at Grand Rapids First Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His creative communication style brings a fresh perspective to sound biblical doctrine. His own family’s conversion is a fruitful testimony of world missions and is the foundation of his deep passion for missions and outreach. He has participated in the planting of churches in Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico and Russia. He and his wife, Brenda, lead by example as they serve and love their community.
Michael is the executive director of School-To-Career Progressions whose mission is to prepare youth to be successful at school, the workforce and the community. He volunteers at various community organizations and has served as a deacon at Grand Rapids First Church. Michael’s experience of growing up as an at-risk youth helps him understand and helps others in their struggles.Michael is married and resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Tom & Liz Gallant
Tom is a CPA and serves as CFO at Grand Rapids First Church. Liz is employed as a Registered Nurse. Tom and Liz Gallant’s lives were forever changed in 2004 when Tom was given the diagnosis of Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. During 43 days in the hospital, after chemotherapy, bone marrow tests and countless blood transfusions, they learned that they were neither forgotten nor abandoned by Christ. They experienced first hand that God has purpose during challenges. Today Tom remains cancer free and ministers to others facing similar trials.
Dr. Ron Vanderbeck
Ron, a clinical psychologist, uses a compassionate approach and Christian perspective to help people solve problems. He specializes in addiction, adoption, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and the evaluation and treatment of child sexual and physical abuse, sexual addiction and sexual offenders. He consults with attorneys, pastors and professional organizations. Ron comes to the WITH team passionate to “use the internet for good instead of evil.” His desire is for people in crisis to know that regardless of their circumstance, there is always hope.
