Prayer gives us the opportunity to communicate with our Heavenly Father. It also allows us to make our requests known to Him. Sometimes prayer can seem difficult or complex, but it is actually just talking to God and sharing our thoughts with Him. In the Bible, Paul says in Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (NIV). What happens when our prayers seem to go unanswered, or worse, we get no response at all?
In an article, "Unanswered Prayer – Unheard Answers," published at the AllAboutGod website, three different types of unanswered prayers are addressed: unheard answers, unexpected answers and understanding answers. Sometimes our prayers focus on how we would like God to respond, rather than on what He determines is best. God wants us to bring every need to Him, and He will answer according to His character and will. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” (NLT).
God loves us very much and wants to do what is best for us. With His direction, we can find out what our Special Assignment is in life and rest in the peace that He is working together all things for our good.
