I’M STUCK, WHERE’S GOD?

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where it felt like you were stuck in quicksand and not going anywhere in life? Sometimes there are just a lot of issues to deal with and the future seems unclear. This can happen when there’s a lot of stress. Maybe it’s dealing with some medical problem that takes a toll both physically and emotionally. Maybe there is some stress at work or home that makes each day a challenge to get through. For some people, there are scars from childhood which interfere with peace and contentment.

When facing ongoing struggles, it’s common to ask, "Where’s God in all this mess?"
For many people, God seems so distant and the fear of staying stuck forever seems so real. Some people start to believe that they are doomed to live a life of misery. It’s almost like feeling that being miserable and pessimistic about life is ‘normal,’ and that feeling happy is ‘abnormal.’ When you feel stuck for a long time, you can feel like giving up and you quit trying. Losing hope can be very frightening, and when this happens, it can feel like being stuck will be a permanent condition with no way out.

THERE’S A WAY OUT

So how do you get out of the quicksand? If you believe that God is real and you trust God to help you, then you have the right mindset to get unstuck. Trust can be shaken when things go wrong, especially if they have been going wrong for a long time, but for every crisis in your life there’s an opportunity for good. This can be the time when God can help you find a sense of purpose and meaning for your life. This is when lives can be turned around. Sometimes this can happen quickly, but many times, it just takes time. God has a plan for your life, and if you believe it, the plan will start to unfold. God knows what HE is doing, and some day it will make sense to you. Trust God the best you can, and never give up trying.
