My Long Lost Family

Growing up, people often asked me, “Who did you get your eyes and hair from?” In a family with blonde hair and blue eyes, I really stood out! At times, that was difficult for me. Eight months ago, at the age of 28, I finally found out why.

I received a message on Facebook: “I think you are my cousin. I think my uncle is your father!” My heart sank… could this be the answer I had been searching for? Turned out it was! My mother confirmed that the man who raised me was not my biological father. My mom left my biological father when she was pregnant with me. She even told my father, “If I’m pregnant I hope the baby will die.” She never spoke with him again.

My mother never asked him for child support, and he let it go. He may have thought she’d had an abortion. The lost truth; this part of my story has finally been revealed and God has redeemed my family in miraculous ways. I now have nine siblings I knew nothing about, and God is letting me step into their lives.
