Perhaps your TOO busy to read this blog
As a fan of being productive and loving the holiday season, I have shamelessly fallen into the holiday shuffle in years past. Some Decembers have flown by so fast, I can barely remember between the hustle and bustle and flying from here to there. Decorating, wrapping, shopping, and doing so many good things. I barely remember the precious memories I built with my family and friends.
I invite you to join me this season as I pursue peace with the same zealous that I pursue my spouse with.
Challenge accepted! I mean can we afford not to slow down and find the joy all around us.
Today, as I was taking my son to school, I stopped and smelt the fresh air, I looked up and was refreshed as each unique individual snowflake melted on my face. I’m still smiling thinking about the moment. I felt as if I was in a snow globe. And even as I took these extra moments with my son, we still arrived at school on time, I arrived early to work, and somehow everything is going as planned. I believe the only difference is the perspective that I am looking at my day with. An almost ripple effect has happened.
Keeping a perspective of peace isn’t something that just happens. After all, anything worthwhile is uphill. But I implore you, join me. Stop and see the joy that is yours to be taken. Stop and let peace find you. Stop and focus on the essential things in your life.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV).
